About
The Transformative Research in Urban Sustainability and Training (T-RUST) program was founded upon integrated social and physical science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. To foster innovation that will lead to a more sustainable urban environment requires the integration of a multitude of disciplines due to the breadth of concepts that must be understood and applied. T-RUST helped students to understand the interactions among the various factors that shape urban systems that are critical for the creation of the sustainable cities.
T-RUST trained STEM doctoral and masters students to work with local communities, businesses, industries, scientists, and policy makers to understand and address challenges faced in post-industrial urban settings using an interdisciplinary systems approach. Students emerged from this program with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and shape sustainable urban environments that serve and engage their inhabitants.
